Armistice Day Outwood Academy Easingwold

Mr Price (Head of Technology) at Outwood Academy Easingwold had the inspiration of the Poppy Installation when seeing how other schools marked Armistice day. He felt that within every school there are links to the armed forces and we wanted to pay our respects to those that have fallen in war and to those who continue to make sacrifices every day.
Mr Price and Mr Warriner (DT Technician) have repurposed plastic bottles from the School canteen and donations from students to produce the poppies. Mr Warriner made the silhouettes of the soldiers and a team of 25 students every morning before School making the poppies for the last three weeks in time for armistice day. We will take the poppies down in next two weeks and preserve them for next year where will come up with a different display for the School community to take part in………
