Business Briefcase

Charles Hobson was born and brought up near Stamford Bridge, where his father ran a plant hire and construction business. Drawn to the construction side of the business, Charles trained as a surveyor, however he soon realized that his heart wasn’t really in the job, and kept remembering the times that he had accompanied his father, to see a good friend who ran a gentlemen’s outfitters in Scarborough. Charles would spend the whole day if he could, seated in the corner of the shop watching every customer, every sale and the way the assistants helped the customers.

Years later Charles was sent out to survey a property in Easingwold that had been a small toy shop, with a large storage area behind, this he thought, would be my dream; he gave up surveying bought the toy shop and Charles Hobson Gentleman’s Outfitters was born, that was 43 years ago………
